Family home made good

PROJECT TYPE Residential LOCATION Orakei, Auckland

Originally a state house that had been extensively renovated in the 90’s with a cladding that had failed, this rebuild and reclad project involved a major redesign.

Utilising a cavity construction cladding system and modern double-glazed aluminium joinery, this partial rebuild involved significant structural upgrade and redesign with alteration to the internal living spaces enabling better flow and connection between the spaces. The reconfiguration provided for better space utilisation providing for a larger family kitchen and dining area brought forward to the north facing views and outdoor living area, with two living spaces being able to be divided off allowing the family to enjoy separation for adult and homework time with the creation of an additional study/home office area and connection to the rear outdoor garden.
